The Candy Store 2nd Year Anniversary Interview

Ian “Candyman” Cumberbatch , owner of Birmingham’s number one street wear outlet “The Candy Store”, started off his interest in retail in 2002 selling lowriders and garms on ebay, where he offered up sought after Bape pieces and Nike Sb kicks.
Candy always had a strong passion for the street wear culture and fashion; resulting in initial plans to develop a brand call “Dupe” in the days before the candy store ,which now stocks international brands including 10 Deep, 12 Bar, The Hundreds, Mishka, Alife, Rogue Status, Supra Footwear, Vans, DC Lifestyle, Alien NYC, Award Tour, Addict, Cardboard Robot, Diamond Supply co, Hellz Bellz, Married to the MOB, Kid Robot and Trapstar.
Trapstar and the Candy team have been working together for over two years now and with the G pass from candy, the Birmingham invasions have been on a regular including Concerts, parties and exclusive sales. There is nothing but love between the camps
Considered part of the new wave of streetwear entrepreneurs, alongside Donuts (bristol) and wholesome (london) Future plans for the Ian include brand development, pushing the candy name nationwide and also venture into a 50′s style diner launching soon, so watch this space !
